A per diem paraprofessional role is available to provide support in special education classrooms across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools within a school district in Lees Summit, Missouri. This position offers flexible, as-needed work days with assignments managed through a smartphone app, making it ideal for those seeking variable schedules while supporting students with diverse behavioral and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and classroom support for students, including those with behavioral challenges requiring implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Assist with toileting and other personal care tasks as needed.
• Support instruction and daily activities under the direction of certified teaching staff.
• Utilize experience working with students with special education or behavioral needs to foster a positive learning environment.
• Respond to shift calls via a designated app to cover absences across approximately 33 schools within the district.

Qualifications:

• Active substitute or paraprofessional certification from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Missouri is required prior to start.
• Relevant experience working in schools, preferably with students exhibiting behavioral needs.
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and background checks specific to the school district.
• Flexibility to work 1 to 5 days per week, with shifts typically scheduled between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM depending on school level.

Location: Lees Summit, Missouri (within a large district with multiple school sites).
