Job Description

Supporting K-12 students through virtual speech facilitation offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to educational success in Palm Beach County. This role focuses on working as a paraprofessional Speech Facilitator, delivering virtual speech services in-person via computer at various assigned school sites. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, with varying itinerant assignments allowing exposure to diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate virtual speech therapy sessions by collaborating closely with Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) via telepractice technology.
  • Support students across a range of ages and special education needs, including Regular Education, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pre-Kindergarten, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), and Independent (InD) programs.
  • Adapt to different school locations within the district, partnering with virtual SLPs to ensure consistent and effective communication services.
  • Maintain technological proficiency to operate virtual platforms and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Comply with all credentialing and fingerprint clearance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must meet academic eligibility through 60+ college credits, an Associates degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro assessment.
  • Previous experience in a school-based environment preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with itinerant assignments.
  • Proven technological skills to facilitate virtual sessions.
  • Completion of fingerprinting and other district credentialing processes.

Locations: Multiple schools in West Palm Beach and broader Palm Beach County, Florida.
