Make a difference every day by supporting students in specialized classrooms designed for lower teacher-to-pupil ratios. This full-time contract opportunity offers meaningful work in a dynamic environment, helping students who communicate in complex wayssome of whom may exhibit challenging behaviors, including aggression towards adults and peers. The assignment runs through the 20262027 school year, providing stable, weekday hours that align with the school calendar.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must meet district requirements: Associates Degree, 48 semester hours, or a ParaPro Assessment score of at least 450
- Prior classroom experience requireddirect support to students with Autism or related disabilities preferred
- Strong ability to interpret IEPs and implement accommodations in daily routines
- Training in CPI, de-escalation techniques, significant behavior experience, and CPR certification highly valued
- Willingness to complete a district-required drug test and fingerprints, in addition to a standard background check
What Youll Do:
- Support individualized learning for students requiring additional assistance
- Implement behavior support strategies and reinforce positive social skills
- Collaborate closely with teachers and related service providers to maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment
- Adapt activities and materials according to guidance in IEPs and faculty input
- Build rapport with students to foster trust, learning, and personal growth
