Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Paraeducator I or II Certification necessary
  • Experience working with students across a range of abilities and needs preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational prowess and reliability
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, cooperative approach to problem-solving
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and motivation to support educators and fellow staff
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations and assistive technology

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow and implement lesson plans designed by instructional and therapeutic specialists (Special Education Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Therapists, Psychologists, Consultants)
  • Provide effective assistance and direct support to students under the supervision of teaching and allied professionals
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Support students in both academic tasks and functional life skills as directed
  • Assist with classroom organization, instructional materials, and integration of technology
  • Collaborate actively with teachers, administrators, and other staff to maximize educational benefit for all students
