This contract position is located just outside Kansas City, MO, at a facility serving students ages K21 in an all-special education environment. As an instructional assistant, you'll be an essential team member, providing care and educational support for medically fragile students in a compassionate, dynamic school community.

Key Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience working with students with severe disabilities and medically fragile needs
• Understanding and implementation of behavior plans
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and nursing staff
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability in challenging situations
• Experience with Hoyer lifts considered a plus, but not required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support daily classroom activities and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct care and assistance to students with significant physical or medical needs
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with behavior management strategies and interventions
• Communicate regularly with teachers and care providers regarding student progress
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and school policies
