Job Description

In this rewarding role, you will provide essential one-on-one assistance to two students: a 4th grade girl and an 11th grade girl, both of whom are medically fragile. Youll work closely with educators, therapists, and other support staff, ensuring these students are safe, comfortable, and able to engage as fully as possible in their learning environments.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with children or young adults in a school or care setting as a paraprofessional or instructional aide
  • Comfort and training in providing personal care, including toileting and diapering support
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in using a hoyer lift (prior experience is a plus, but not required)
  • Ability to respond calmly and safely to behaviors and medical needs as they arise
  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the students wellbeing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one support for medically fragile students throughout the school day
  • Assist with toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility, including possible use of a hoyer lift
  • Participate in Tuesday morning team meetings at 8:00 am
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to foster an inclusive, nurturing educational environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and regularly communicate progress or concerns

This role offers consistent full-time building hours from 8:45 am to 4:15 pm. Comprehensive training will be provided on all specialized equipment and protocols to ensure your success.
