Through a contract role aligned with the upcoming school year (August 25 May 28), youll have opportunities for hands-on involvement in SPED classrooms, working either one-on-one or providing general classroom support. What Were Looking For:
- Experience working in school settings as a paraprofessional, particularly with special education populations
- Flexible mindset, willing to float between 22 elementary, 6 middle, and 5 high schools as assignments are confirmed
- Comfortable assisting with toileting, changing, and supporting students with behavioral needs
- Willingness to provide support in both one-on-one and classroom-wide settings
- Active Missouri Substitute Certificate on the DESE website or successful ParaPro Exam completion with transcripts on file
- Open to new hires throughout the school year as needs arise; preference for individuals with strong communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educators and staff to deliver high-quality support to students in inclusive and self-contained classrooms
- Support daily activities, ensuring student needs (academic, physical, and behavioral) are met with compassion and consistency
- Help implement individualized plans and adapt strategies as necessary
- Maintain clear, professional documentation and reliable communication
Schedules vary and you can indicate your preference:
- Middle schools: 7:00 2:30
- High schools: 7:30 3:00
- Elementary schools: 8:30 4:00 or 9:00 4:30
