Step into a dynamic school environment supporting K-12 students as a paraprofessional, with opportunities available across elementary, middle, and high schools for both the extended school year (June) and the upcoming academic year (August start). This contract assignment offers valuable experience in diverse special education settings and general classrooms, providing indispensable support to students and teachers.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active substitute certificate listed on the official Missouri DESE website (required)
- Previous experience in SPED classrooms, 1:1 support, or general education settings highly valued
- Flexibility to work across various grade levels and school environments; preferences can be accommodated when possible
- Comfortable with duties such as toileting, changing, and managing challenging behaviors
- Able and willing to float throughout the district based on student and classroom needs
- Willingness and ability to complete required background checks and fingerprinting (applicant pays fee)
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide essential classroom support, whether assigned to individual students or general classroom needs
- Assist teachers with instructional activities, behavior management, and daily care routines
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment for students with diverse learning needs
- Adapt quickly to various teaching styles, routines, and school sites as needed
- Maintain clear communication with supervising teachers, staff, and district administrators
- Contribute positively to classroom and school culture
