Per Diem Paraprofessional Opportunities Kansas City, MO
Seeking qualified paraprofessionals to provide essential support across multiple schools in the Kansas City area. This position offers flexible, per diem work covering substitute needs in special education classrooms, primarily in elementary settings, across a large district of 33 schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with behavioral needs, implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as required
- Provide 1:1 or classroom aide assistance in Special Education (SPED) environments
- Assist with toileting and other personal care tasks as needed
- Respond to daily substitute call-outs via a dedicated app, selecting shifts based on availability
- Maintain a supportive and safe learning environment for students with diverse needs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Substitute or Paraprofessional certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) prior to start date
- Experience working in schools, preferably with behavior support or SPED populations
- Ability to complete fingerprint clearance specific to the district requirements
- Reliability and flexibility to work variable schedules, including middle school, high school, and elementary hours
Work Details:
- Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
- Schedule: Per diem; 1 to 5 days per week with shifts typically ranging from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM depending on school level
- Position Type: Contract, no guaranteed hours compensated for hours worked
