Job Description

You'll partner with teachers and licensed staff to assist with lesson plans, classroom management, and individualized student needs.

Ideal background and experience:

  • Previous paraprofessional, classroom assistant, or similar school-based support experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Proficiency in providing instructional and/or behavioral support under teacher direction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to classroom dynamics
  • Knowledge of special education best practices is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or related certifications advantageous

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering instructional support to small groups or individual students
  • Assisting teachers with implementing lesson plans and accommodating various learning styles
  • Helping manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive environment
  • Supervising students during transitions, activities, or breaks
  • Supporting students with individualized learning or behavioral plans
  • Aiding with record-keeping and basic administrative tasks as needed
  • Collaborating with staff to ensure students academic and social needs are met
