Job Description

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting highly preferred
  • Understanding of child development and educational support techniques
  • Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assist with both group instruction and one-on-one support
  • Adaptability to work with diverse learners and respond to varying needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, projects, and lessons
  • Provide individualized support and attention to students in accordance with learning plans
  • Assist in monitoring student behavior and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Help supervise students in classrooms, hallways, during lunch, and on field trips
  • Support students with special needs under the direction of certified staff
  • Document and report student progress to teachers and school administrators
  • Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings as required by the district
