This contract opportunity near Independence, MO offers the flexibility to choose your schedule, working 1-5 days per week in various elementary, middle, and high school environments across 33 schools in the district.

As a crucial part of special education classrooms, youll support students with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), provide one-on-one assistance or help as a classroom aide, and may assist with toileting or other support needs as required. All assignments are managed via the Spindle app, where youll be able to pick up available shifts and see site details in real-time.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid paraprofessional or substitute certification through DESE (must be active before starting; those in process can apply)
• Recent experience working in schools, specifically with special education or behavioral needs
• Comfortable working in both individual and group environments
• Willing to undergo fingerprinting specific to the district prior to assignment
• Ability to adapt to various settings and student needs, often at short notice
