Support students in special education classrooms with a focus on behavioral needs as a Paraprofessional in a dynamic school district in Independence, MO. This per diem opportunity offers flexible, varied assignments across elementary, middle, and high schools within a large district of over 30 schools. Ideal candidates will have experience working with students requiring behavioral interventions and individualized support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in special education settings, including 1:1 and classroom aide roles
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support students with diverse behavioral needs
- Provide personal care when necessary, including toileting assistance
- Adapt to different school schedules and environments as assigned
- Respond to contractor call outs via a mobile app, selecting shifts that fit your availability
Qualifications:
- Active DESE Sub or Paraprofessional certification (or in process, must be active before starting)
- Experience working in schools supporting students with behavioral challenges
- Ability to complete fingerprints per district requirements
- Comfortable working in a variety of school settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work 1-5 days per week based on call outs
Work Hours:
- Varied schedules depending on school level:
- Middle School: 7:00 AM2:30 PM
- High School: 7:30 AM3:00 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM4:00 PM or 9:00 AM4:30 PM
- Per diem pay with no guaranteed hours
