This opportunity is for full-time paraprofessional positions supporting students with behavioral needs in a K-12 school setting located in Independence, Missouri. The contract runs through the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and an end date of May 28th.
The roles provide one-on-one assistance at two elementary schools, Oakwood Manor and Gracemor Elementary. Candidates must be comfortable working with challenging behaviors and assisting with toileting. Experience working with students who have behavioral needs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one support to students with behavioral challenges
- Assist with toileting care as needed
- Collaborate with special education staff to implement behavior support plans
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Paraprofessional certification or active DESE paraprofessional status preferred
- Previous experience supporting students with behavioral needs, ideally in a school setting
- Comfort and skill in managing behaviors and assisting with personal care
- Ability to complete required background checks and drug screening promptly
Work Schedule and Details:
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday
- Working hours: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Immediate availability preferred
Interview Process:
- Initial 5-10 minute prescreen call
- Followed by a 15-minute Zoom interview with the special education director
- Interview slots available February 9th, 10th, and 11th (Central Time)
