Job Description

Make a direct impact on student learning this summer through individualized support as a dedicated educational aide or assistant. This contract opportunity near Horseheads, NY is ideal for those who thrive in 1:1 settings and are passionate about helping students excel during an extended school year program.

Youll be an essential part of a team working weekdays from July 6th to August 14th (Monday through Friday, 8am to 2pm), providing specialized attention to one student throughout the summer session. This role is approximately 27.5 hours per week, based at sites in the Elmira area.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active NY State License/Certificate for Teacher Assistants, or relevant paraprofessional certification
  • Significant experience providing 1:1 classroom supportespecially in a summer school or special education context
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, consistent attendance during the assignment dates
  • Submission must include your resume and a copy of your NY State License/Certificate

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct, individualized support to assigned student in academic and social activities
  • Assist in implementing IEP goals as directed by classroom teacher and support staff
  • Aid in daily routines, including classroom transitions, behavior support, or physical assistance, as needed
  • Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with teaching staff regarding student progress
  • Uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times
