Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a BRIDGES autism support classroom! This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide vital assistance to children with varying needs on the autism spectrum, covering a maternity leave from late October through the end of March. Located onsite at an elementary school near Hockessin, DE, you will play an essential part in creating a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit (permit must be active and in hand)
• Experience working as a Paraprofessional, preferably in school settings
• Background supporting students with autism or other developmental differences
• Willingness to complete required $85 CBC fingerprinting
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability in dynamic environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and multidisciplinary teams
• If you hold an RBT credential, please be aware you must arrange BCBA supervision outside of school hours if you wish to keep certification active; certification is not recognized in this setting

Role Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teacher and students in a BRIDGES autism support classroom
• Assist with daily activities, individualized programming, and social integration
• Facilitate a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
• Help implement behavior strategies and academic plans in collaboration with staff
• Ensure students needs are met with empathy and professionalism

This is a full-time, onsite position MondayFriday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
