Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting elementary students within a regional special education program. As an Instructional Assistant, youll work on a contract basis with students who require intensive behavioral and academic support in a self-contained classroom. Youll have the opportunity to meaningfully impact young learners, drawing on your background in Paraprofessional support or ABA therapy, in an engaging, collaborative school setting.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, ABA Therapist, or in similar behavioral support roles in school environments
  • Strong understanding of supporting students with significant behavioral and educational needs
  • Compassion, patience, and a proactive approach to engaging with elementary-aged children
  • Ability to collaborate closely with special education staff and embrace a team-oriented environment
  • No specific licensure required; seeking professionals with relevant behavioral and ABA experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily classroom assistance to support learning and behavioral goals
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with elementary students needing intensive support
  • Implement individualized behavior interventions, under staff guidance
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to the supervising teacher
  • Assist with lesson reinforcement, classroom routines, and personal care needs
  • Participate in ongoing school-based training and collaboration sessions

This position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week at a single school location from as soon as possible through May 2027. The school team provides active supervision, regular support, and the chance to engage with a community passionate about inclusive education.
