Job Description

Make a positive difference in the lives of students by supporting their educational journey for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with learners in a variety of classroom settingsranging from general education to specialized environments for students with cognitive or emotional impairments. Placement may include 1:1 assistance in resource, self-contained, or general classrooms, with opportunities to contribute across all grade levels. Assignment runs from ASAP start through June 11th, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours each week (hours may vary by building).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 60 semester hours of college credit (provide official transcripts) OR
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Or pass one of the following: ETS Parapro Assessment (score 460+) or SAT (evidence-based reading/writing score 480+, math score 530+)
  • Experience in school settings or as a health aide a plus
  • Flexible and adaptable to work across caseload types and age groups
  • Comfortable assisting with a range of student needs, including toileting and diapering for students with cognitive impairments
  • Open to working in both mild-moderate and more severe classroom settings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under teacher and staff direction to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Support students' academic, physical, and emotional needs, including providing 1:1 assistance
  • Participate in classroom activities and routines
  • Provide personal care support, including diapering or toileting as needed
  • Collaborate with school teams and communicate student progress
