Job Description
Step into an impactful contract role supporting students in a specialized school setting near Frankfort, IL. This position is designed for a caring, dedicated professional ready to begin immediately and make a difference on a 1:1 basis. The initial duration is three months, with the possibility to extend up to a year, providing flexibility and the chance to build ongoing relationships.
This role offers 30 hours per week during the summer, with the potential for increased hours beyond that period. Youll be working closely with a student who benefits from additional support, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed for success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with Paraprofessional endorsement in IL
- Experience working in a school environment, preferably with students requiring additional support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A flexible, compassionate approach to learning and student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance and guidance to a student in a specialized educational environment
- Support instructional goals as directed by licensed teachers and educational staff
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Promote social, emotional, and academic growth through daily interaction
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere
