Experience a rewarding summer supporting students success in a contract role as a 1:1 Teacher Aide or Teacher Assistant in the Elmira, NY area. You will play a vital part in a dynamic summer school program, working directly with students to provide individualized support and encouragement. This position offers a structured Monday-to-Friday schedule, making it ideal for those who value work-life balance in the summer months.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active New York State license/certificate for Teacher Assistants, or relevant certification for Paraprofessionals (highly preferred for Aides)
- Demonstrated experience in a 1:1 support role within a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow teacher direction and adapt to individual student needs
- Organizational skills to track student progress and manage responsibilities
What Youll Do:
- Provide direct 1:1 academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to assigned students
- Assist teaching staff in implementing lesson plans and classroom routines
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on individual growth
- Monitor, document, and report student progress and challenges
- Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to enhance learning opportunities
Assignment Details:
- Summer school session: July 6, 2026 August 14, 2026
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 2:00 PM
- Approximately 27.5 hours per week
