Job Description

Make a difference in a students life as a full-time paraprofessional supporting a 3rd-grade classroom in a behavioral setting. This contract opportunity is located onsite near Elmira, NY, in the Bath area. What we're seeking:

  • Experience working in behavioral classroom settings is essential
  • Previous school-based paraprofessional or teachers aide background strongly preferred
  • Compassion, patience, and commitment to supporting student growth
  • Comfort and ability to effectively work 1:1 with elementary-aged children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with teachers and specialists
  • Adaptability and initiative to manage challenging classroom moments

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 3rd grade student in an ED (Emotional Disturbance) classroom
  • Assist with classroom participation, daily routines, and behavioral interventions
  • Support academic learning, social skills development, and emotional regulation strategies
  • Implement individualized goals and behavior management plans as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Collaborate with educators and school staff to ensure a positive, supportive learning environment
  • Document student progress and promptly share key observations when needed
