Job Description

Start a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with complex needs at a specialized educational setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This dynamic role involves working 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at a dedicated site where students (from elementary to high school ages) receive special education services throughout their day.

Your support will help students navigate challenges related to behavior and disabilities in a collaborative, compassionate environment. Candidates must be fully comfortable addressing high behavioral needs and assisting with all aspects of student care, including toileting.

Qualifications:

  • Must be Highly Qualified as a Paraprofessional by one of the following:
    • Passing the MN Para Educator Exam (attach exam score)
    • Completion of at least 60 college credits (attach official transcript; diploma or degree certificate does not suffice)
  • Must submit an up-to-date resume and Highly Qualified documentation (both required for consideration)
  • Experience or willingness to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels; specify age group preference if any
  • Previous experience in special education or high-needs settings preferred
  • Comfort with providing hands-on assistance in a Setting 4 environment

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with students in Setting 4 classrooms, supporting individualized education plans throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere
  • Assist with behavioral management and de-escalation
  • Provide physical support, including help with toileting and daily living tasks as needed
  • Maintain respectful and positive relationships with students, staff, and families

This contract position is set to begin on September 8, 2026, and will run through June 10, 2027, at a consistent weekly schedule. Candidates who fulfill contract hours may transition to direct employment with the district. The hourly rate is $20.
