Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in a center-based special education program supporting students who benefit from compassionate, individualized attention. Two full-time openings are available for Educational Assistants (Paraprofessionals), starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the current school year, with the possibility of renewal.

Step into a vital role working closely with dedicated educators, therapists, and support staff, providing one-on-one and small group support to learners with moderate to severe needs. Be a key part of a collaborative, energetic team focused on helping students thrive academically, behaviorally, and personally in a supportive elementary school setting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher, or at least 60 college credits, or a passing score on a Minnesota state-approved paraprofessional assessment (such as the ParaPro Assessment)
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or educational assistant, ideally within a school
  • Familiarity with supporting students with ASD, EBD, or moderatesevere needs
  • Background in implementing behavior management approaches (PBIS, ABA, CPI, etc.)
  • Comfort with providing personal care and toileting support as needed
  • Collaborative nature with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and behavioral support in a center-based special education classroom
  • Offer 1:1 or small group assistance to students
  • Assist with daily living activities (including ADLs and toileting)
  • Carry out IEP accommodations and individualized behavior plans
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student safety and success
  • Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
