Step into a rewarding, contract opportunity as a 1:1 Paraprofessional supporting students in a RISE classroom environment for the upcoming 26/27 school year. In this full-time role, you will work closely with a student, providing individualized support throughout the academic day, while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators. With a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours each week, youll build meaningful connections and make a lasting difference in the lives of students near Elgin, IL.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Paraprofessional license required
- Experience working with students in special education settings or RISE classrooms is preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting student growth
- Ability to follow classroom routines and support individualized education plans (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, one-on-one assistance to a student in the RISE classroom
- Support instructional activities, promote engagement, and encourage participation
- Assist with behavior management and implement strategies as directed by teachers or specialists
- Accompany the student throughout the school environment and assist with transitions
- Assist with documentation and reporting of student progress and daily activities
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
