Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous paraprofessional or classroom support experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant certifications a plus
  • Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and support staff
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexible, patient, and creative approach to diverse learning styles
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional and behavioral support to individual students and small groups
  • Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and supervision
  • Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations and following Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help facilitate a positive, inclusive, and safe learning atmosphere
  • Monitor student progress and report concerns or successes to teaching staff
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required
  • Adapt to changing classroom needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
