Job Description

Make a real difference in the lives of young learners by supporting students and educators in an engaging elementary school setting. This full-time contract paraprofessional role centers on providing essential classroom assistance, working closely with both teachers and students throughout the 2026-2027 school year. The position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule at 35 hours per week, with breaks and lunch time provided.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience supporting elementary-aged children, particularly those demonstrating challenging behaviors in school environments. There are opportunities for both part-time and full-time placements, including an ECE morning shift option.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Paraprofessional Certification required
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in schools preferred
  • Comfort and experience with providing toileting support to students
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting classroom needs and provide individualized attention

Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct support to teachers with classroom management and instructional assistance
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to ensure student learning and participation
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and safe environment for all students
  • Assist with daily routines, including toileting when necessary
  • Engage with students to encourage academic, behavioral, and social growth
