Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, childcare, or tutoring setting is highly desirable
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or associates degree preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, adaptability, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
- Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism in school environments
- Ability to follow directions and provide support for a diverse student population, including those with special needs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instruction and activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra assistance
- Help with classroom management, organization, and preparation of learning materials
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips
- Collaborate with staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans as directed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Observe student progress and communicate concerns to teachers or educational staff
