Job Description

Take the next step in supporting students' growth by working as a valued paraprofessional dedicated to behavioral support. In this contract position, you'll play an essential role in helping elementary learners thrive in a positive and structured environment. You'll collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families, making a real impact from your first day through mid-June 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group behavioral support using ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) principles
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement intervention and instructional plans
  • Track and document student progress, behaviors, and interventions with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Foster an encouraging, safe, and inclusive environment for students
  • Adapt strategies to meet diverse student needs as directed by individualized plans
  • Engage in ongoing communication with team members to ensure consistency of care

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one years experience in behavioral support, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program (unless you hold a qualifying degree)
  • One of the following:
    • Passing ParaPathways Assessment scores (332+ Reading/Writing, 334+ Math)
    • At least 48 college credits from an accredited institution
    • Associates degree or higher
  • Candidates with a completed National BCI are especially encouraged to apply for immediate consideration
