Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Paraprofessional, making a tangible impact in a supportive school environment near Harrisville, RI. In this role, you'll work one-on-one with an 11th grade student who is visually impaired, providing essential support throughout the school day. Youll also assist in preparing instructional materials for the Teacher of the Visually Impaired, who visits three times each week. This position offers a consistent schedule, helping to create a structured learning experience for the student.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Knowledge of accommodations for visually impaired students is highly desirable
• Ability to prepare accessible materials and adapt resources under the guidance of instructional staff
• Capable of following individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers and specialists
• Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to student support

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands-on, individualized classroom support for an 11th grade student
• Prepare and adapt materials as directed by the Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Implement strategies and accommodations to foster student independence
• Communicate regularly with students, teachers, and specialists to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and daily activities
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere

This contract opportunity consists of 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, supporting a single student within a nurturing K-12 environment.
