Job Description
An elementary school in Providence, RI, is seeking experienced paraprofessionals to provide essential instructional and behavioral support in various classroom and one-on-one settings. This full-time contract role (32.5 hours/week) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Providence Public School District from ASAP through June 16, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral support to students, including those with behavioral challenges
- Implement classroom accommodations and assist with transitions
- Support community-based outings and bus supervision as needed
- Serve in classroom-based or one-on-one paraprofessional roles at the elementary level
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional supporting behavioral students
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must meet one of the following:
- Passing ParaPro score (461 or higher)
- Two years of college education
- Associates degree or higher
- Qualifying TA certification from another state
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program
