Job Description

An elementary school in Providence, RI, is seeking experienced paraprofessionals to provide essential instructional and behavioral support in various classroom and one-on-one settings. This full-time contract role (32.5 hours/week) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Providence Public School District from ASAP through June 16, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral support to students, including those with behavioral challenges
  • Implement classroom accommodations and assist with transitions
  • Support community-based outings and bus supervision as needed
  • Serve in classroom-based or one-on-one paraprofessional roles at the elementary level

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional supporting behavioral students
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Passing ParaPro score (461 or higher)
    • Two years of college education
    • Associates degree or higher
    • Qualifying TA certification from another state
  • Completion of, or current enrollment in, a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program
