Key Qualifications:

• Experience working in a school setting, especially with elementary-age children
• Ability to meet requirements to work as a Paraprofessional under Rhode Island DOE regulations
• Familiarity with supporting students with varying disabilities, including language-based needs and those on the autism spectrum
• Comfort with assisting students in daily care activities, including toileting and diaper changes
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting the classroom as part of a collaborative team

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to K-3 students in an intensive elementary classroom environment
• Assist students with academic, social, behavioral, and self-care activities, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere
• Work collaboratively with six rotating teaching assistants to meet student needs and classroom goals
• Implement instructional and behavior plans under the guidance of teachers and intervention specialists
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
