Step into a meaningful contract opportunity this summer supporting elementary-aged students as a paraprofessional for ESY (Extended School Year) programming. This role is set in vibrant school communities near North St. Paul, MN, running from July 6th through July 23rd, with an additional orientation session in June (exact date to be determined).
The weekly schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:45am to 2:15pm, including a half-hour lunch break, totaling 20 hours per week. Multiple positions are available across three different school sites, offering the chance to work one-on-one with students or within classroom settings to assist instructional staff and facilitate student learning.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Para Test Certification
- OR proof of at least two years of post-secondary education (60 semester credits/90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution
- OR a completed college degree
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or support service settings is highly valued
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Adaptability and a positive attitude in a dynamic school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for students with varied learning needs
- Assist teachers in daily classroom and instructional activities
- Help to maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment
- Foster independence, social skills, and positive behaviors
- Maintain academic and behavioral documentation as directed
