Job Description
Make a meaningful impact working alongside educators and supporting elementary students in a collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity is for a paraprofessional at an elementary school, providing both classroom assistance and individualized support. The full-time position spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering a consistent Monday-Friday schedule (35 hours weekly), with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute unpaid breaks each day.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting lead teachers with classroom management and daily instruction
- Providing individualized and small-group support to students, including 1:1 assistance
- Supporting students during classroom activities, transitions, and learning sessions
- Assisting with toileting and personal care as needed
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Para certification is required
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged children, especially those displaying challenging behaviors, in a school setting
- Preference given to candidates comfortable with or experienced in assisting with toileting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt and contribute in a lively, student-centered classroom
Both part-time morning (ECE) and full-time elementary paraprofessional positions are available, suiting those eager to work closely with dedicated educators and support student success.
