Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or related work in a school environment
- Background in behavioral intervention or experience managing challenging student behaviors preferred
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a student-centered approach
- Must meet state and district requirements for paraprofessional certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with an assigned student, supporting daily academic and behavioral goals
- Assist with implementing behavioral intervention plans and supportive strategies
- Foster an inclusive, caring classroom environment tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and behavioral incidents
- Encourage student independence while ensuring a safe, positive experience
- Support student participation in classroom activities, transitions, and routines
