Job Description

This contract position offers an opportunity to make a real impact by working closely with one student on a 1:1 basis, providing behavioral support throughout Summer School and the following academic year. Key Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in a school setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with behavioral needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Collaborative spirit to coordinate with educational staff and families
  • Reliability for consistent support throughout summer programming and the school year

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to one student, focusing on behavioral interventions and redirection as needed
  • Maintain open, respectful communication with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure a coordinated support plan
  • Reinforce classroom routines, encourage positive social interactions, and monitor student progress
  • Assist with academic tasks, as appropriate, under direction from licensed educators
  • Document observations and contribute insights to the student's educational team
  • Participate in relevant training sessions and team meetings
