Make a meaningful impact supporting students academic and personal growth as a dedicated paraprofessional in a school-based environment near Carlisle, IA. In this contract position, youll partner closely with teachers, staff, and students to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging educational setting.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or working with children in an educational setting is strongly preferred
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, encouraging, and safe learning atmosphere
- Effective communication skills for interacting with both students and staff
- Adaptability and patience in managing various classroom situations
- Ability to assist with classroom management, lesson activities, and individual student support
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or related certifications are a plus
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support under the guidance of classroom teachers, reinforcing lesson plans and activities
- Assist students individually or in small groups, ensuring full participation and understanding
- Support students with diverse physical, emotional, or learning needs
- Foster positive relationships with students, helping to guide their academic and social development
- Prepare classroom materials and support organization of the learning environment
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess)
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all school policies and student privacy regulations
