Multiple contract opportunities are now available for individuals passionate about making a positive impact as a paraprofessional or health aide in elementary and middle school environments. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing students' daily experiences and fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
As a valued part of the school community, you may serve as a 1:1 or classroom aide, or work hands-on as a health aide assisting the school nurse. Positions are available at several schools, including Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary, Main Street Elementary, Soquel Elementary, and New Brighton Middle School. Assignments run from now through May 27th, 2027, with weekly hours ranging from 28 to 32.5.
What Youll Bring:
- Experience supporting children in educational, childcare, or similar settings
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help children succeed
- Comfort working one-on-one or within small groups, both in general or special education settings
- Ability to collaborate with educators, school nurses, and staff
- For health aide applicants, willingness to assist students with medical needs, including g-tube care (training provided if needed)
- No formal license or certification required, but related experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students
- Assist with delivering lesson materials and classroom activities
- Offer personal care and supervision as necessary
- Work under teacher or nurse direction to implement instructional or care plans
- Maintain open, positive communication with staff and parents
