Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Experience as a Paraprofessional, Educational Technician (Ed Tech), or Behavior Specialist preferred
  • Ability to implement individualized behavioral and academic support strategies
  • Familiarity with positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS)
  • Comfortable assisting students with life skills and personal care, as needed
  • Strong communication skills for partnership with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Adaptable, patient, and eager to learn

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students in Life Skills and Behavior Program classrooms
  • Aid in classroom management and reinforce behavior plans set by the teaching and specialist teams
  • Assist with academic lessons, daily routines, and therapeutic activities
  • Encourage students social, emotional, and educational development
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
  • Document student progress and communicate observations to the instructional staff
