Supporting K-12 students in a dynamic school setting, this itinerant paraprofessional role focuses on facilitating virtual speech services on-site in Boynton Beach, FL. Paired with a virtual Speech Language Pathologist, you will work directly with students across multiple school locations within the Palm Beach County Schools district, ensuring effective communication support tailored to diverse needs and age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate virtual speech therapy sessions on-site at assigned schools using technology to connect with virtual SLPs
- Provide direct assistance and support to students requiring speech facilitation services K-12
- Collaborate with virtual SLPs, teachers, and school staff to reinforce speech goals and adapt strategies as needed
- Manage caseloads across various schools; itinerant role with varying assignments
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by school district policies
- Uphold all mandatory credentialing, including fingerprint clearance and required school district badges
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; must meet one of the following academic criteria: 60+ college credits, Associates degree, or passing the ParaPro test
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred
- Technologically savvy with the ability to facilitate virtual sessions confidently
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites within the district
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance and compliance with school district credentialing requirements
Work Details:
- Location: On-site in Boynton Beach with assignments across the Palm Beach County school district
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (typically 7 hours per day)
- Employment Type: Contract through the current school year, with start ASAP through May 29, 2026
- Caseload: Variable based on school assignments, serving students from regular education, pre-kindergarten, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other diverse needs
