Job Description

As a contract paraprofessional, youll be integral to the day-to-day success of an inclusive, all-special-education school serving K21. Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with severe disabilities and implementing behavior intervention plans
  • Demonstrated ability to assist medically fragile students safely and respectfully
  • Comfort working with a diverse student population spanning early childhood through young adulthood
  • Familiarity with Hoyer lifts is a plus, but not required
  • Calm, adaptable nature and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills and an empathetic, patient mindset

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with teachers and specialists to provide instructional and personal care support
  • Guide students through classroom activities and daily routines, adapting assistance to individual needs
  • Implement established behavior plans and assist in creating a positive learning environment
  • Support the daily medical, therapeutic, and physical needs of students, including those who require complex care
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation as needed
  • Foster a nurturing atmosphere that respects each students dignity and unique abilities
