Take on an impactful and flexible role supporting students as a per diem paraprofessional within a thriving district in the North Kansas City area. You'll step in to cover daily absences across 33 dynamic campuses, primarily in elementary SPED settings. Work directly with studentssometimes one-on-one, sometimes as a classroom aideproviding essential assistance to those with behavioral needs and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Responsibilities may also include toileting, with a commitment to maintaining dignity and support for all students.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals eager to manage their schedule, as you can select between 15 workdays weekly based on availability and school needs. Shift times vary by school, with middle, high, and elementary start options fitting different lifestyles.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Hold an active substitute certificate (SUB cert) with DESE, or be in process to activate before your first day
• Previous experience in school environments and with student behavioral needs is required
• Comfortable assisting in SPED classrooms; prior work implementing BIPs and/or toileting support preferred
• Fingerprinting (unique district-specific process) required before assignment
• Tech-friendlywilling to use the spindle app to accept and manage assignments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide behavioral and academic support to students as needed in SPED and general ed settings
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and team needs
• Follow all established school policies and intervention plans
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a student-centered approach in every interaction
