Step into a fulfilling contract position supporting K-12 students in a vibrant educational environment. Spend your days making a significant impact working with children across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Flexible, compassionate individuals comfortable with both 1:1 and classroom support are welcomed. Opportunities are available in SPED classrooms, where youll play a crucial role in assisting studentssometimes with toileting, changing, or helping manage behaviors.
New positions regularly open up with summer and new school year needs. Schedules vary between schools, so theres opportunity to find hours that suit your lifestyle:
- Middle School: 7:00 am 2:30 pm
- High School: 7:30 am 3:00 pm
- Elementary: 8:30 am 4:00 pm or 9:00 am 4:30 pm
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or educational support staff, preferably with K-12 students
- Comfort working with students requiring special education services
- Willingness to provide assistance with personal care needs (such as toileting and changing)
- Open to floating between different age groups or schools as needed
- Hold an active Missouri Substitute Certificate (SUB CERT) reflected on the DESE website
- Ability to complete district-required fingerprinting
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers in managing instructional and behavioral strategies
- Work one-on-one with students or provide general classroom support
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Adapt to the needs of different classrooms or assignments throughout the district
