Job Description

This role offers a full-time paraprofessional position supporting students in a K-12 school setting located in Blue Springs, MO. The assignment runs through the current school year with a contract end date of May 28th. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children exhibiting behavioral challenges and assisting with toileting needs in a 1:1 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students at Oakwood Manor Elementary and Gracemor Elementary schools
  • Implement behavioral strategies and support interventions under supervision
  • Assist students with toileting and other personal care needs as required
  • Collaborate closely with special education staff and follow individualized education plans
  • Maintain clear records of student progress and behavior

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous paraprofessional experience in school settings preferred
  • Comfort and skill working with behavioral challenges in children
  • Ability to assist with toileting and other daily living skills
  • Active paraprofessional certification or DESE approval is a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Available to start immediately and commit through May 28th

Schedule and Interview Process:

  • Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Prescreening phone call (5-10 minutes) prior to presentation to school
  • Zoom interview with district special education director (15 minutes)
  • Available interview slots (Central Time): February 9 at 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., February 10 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., February 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Additional Notes:

  • Candidates must be able to complete all required background checks and drug screening promptly
  • Paraprofessionals must be prepared to complete local prints within the first few days, with associated costs paid upfront
  • Supervision is provided externally and managed separately from the paraprofessional role
