Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to support students in a K-12 educational setting, focusing primarily on assisting students with autism. The role requires working closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to provide individualized support tailored to each student's needs.

Location: Avon, CO
Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Job Duration: Contract for the current school year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students with autism, facilitating their engagement and learning within the classroom environment
  • Support classroom teachers by implementing instructional strategies and managing behavior interventions
  • Assist with academic tasks, classroom activities, and social skills development
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with the educational team to ensure consistent support
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within K-12 schools
  • Prior experience or training in working with students on the autism spectrum is highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine dedication to supporting the unique needs of special education students
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality policies and maintain professionalism in all school interactions
