Job Description

Step into a fulfilling role supporting student success as a dedicated paraprofessional in a welcoming middle school setting near Aurora, IL. This contract position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a resource room and make a meaningful difference in the life of a middle school student. The assignment runs full-time from now until May 28, 2027, with a regular schedule of 7:45 am to 3:00 pm each school day.

In this position, you'll form a strong 1:1 relationship supporting a student who benefits from engaged guidance and individualized attention throughout their academic day. You'll partner with skilled educational staff, contributing to an inclusive and positive classroom environment while addressing the daily needs of your student.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Illinois paraprofessional certificate (must be included for consideration)
  • Experience working with students who have disabilities or medical needs is essential
  • Willingness to assist with toileting, feedings, and hygiene routines as needed
  • Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills
  • Genuine empathy and commitment to fostering student independence

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver academic and behavioral support alongside classroom teachers and specialists
  • Assist with daily routines, including personal care when required
  • Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth through positive reinforcement
  • Monitor progress and contribute to the student's individualized education plan (IEP) goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with staff and families
