Job Description

A full-time Behavior Technician position is available to support the Affective Needs Center program at an elementary school in the eastern Denver area. This role focuses on providing paraprofessional assistance within a special education center classroom, working closely with 10 students under the guidance of the programs teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate calmness under pressure, strong relational skills, and the ability to model co-regulation techniques for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with affective and behavioral needs within a special education setting.
  • Implement and follow established classroom systems and structures.
  • Model self-regulation and co-regulation strategies to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to support a caseload of 10 students.
  • Provide direct behavioral support consistent with program goals and student needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working in school settings, preferably with students who have special needs.
  • Ability to remain calm and relational under pressure.
  • Self-regulated with readiness to step into an existing program immediately.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) licensure is preferred but not required.
  • No special credentialing requirements beyond experience in schools.

Position Details:

  • Location: Denver area (eastern side)
  • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Contract role with anticipated end date of May 21, 2026
  • Onsite presence required
