Job Description

This full-time, contract position is designed for dedicated professionals who thrive in classroom settings, with consistent hours totaling 37.5 per week throughout the 26/27 school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Paraprofessional license required
  • Previous experience as a school paraprofessional or similar support role strongly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and administration
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with students and colleagues
  • Demonstrated reliability, patience, and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with special education settings or behavioral support classrooms is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student in a RISE (Reaching Independence through Structured Education) classroom
  • Assist the student with academic tasks, activities of daily living, and behavioral goals under the guidance of certified teachers
  • Help maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that meets the students needs
  • Track and report student progress, challenges, and successes to the classroom team
  • Support classroom routines, safety protocols, and promote student engagement
  • Participate in relevant staff meetings and professional development as required by the school schedule
