Job Description

Step into a dynamic middle school environment, supporting students with diverse needs in a centerbased program. This contract position involves working 32.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday) during the school day for a period beginning approximately August 31, 2026, through November 29, 2026. After 422 contracted hours, there is an opportunity to be considered for a direct hire role.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must be highly qualified by one of the following:
    • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam), or
    • Completion of at least 60 college credits (a transcript must be provided; diplomas or degree images are not accepted)
  • Resume and one qualifying document (passing test score or transcript) must be submitted for consideration
  • Comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care responsibilities as needed for students
  • Previous experience in a school or centerbased (Setting 2-3) environment is strongly preferred
  • Professional, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing instructional and behavioral support to middle school students in a special needs setting
  • Assisting classroom teachers in managing activities, adapting materials, and promoting student engagement
  • Supporting students with personal care tasks, including toileting, as required
  • Contributing to Individualized Education Program (IEP) implementation and documentation
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
