Embark on a meaningful role supporting students growth and independence as an Educational Assistant within a center-based special education program near Anoka, MN. This contract opportunity offers full-time openings, with immediate start dates extending through the end of the current school yearand the possibility of renewal. You'll work alongside dedicated educators and support staff to ensure every students needs are met in a structured, compassionate environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Meet at least one of the following: Associates Degree or higher, 60+ college credits, or passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment (e.g., ParaPro Assessment)
- Previous experience in a school setting as a paraprofessional or educational assistant preferred
- Background supporting students with ASD, EBD, or moderate to severe learning needs is desirable
- Familiarity with behavior management methods including PBIS, ABA, or CPI is a plus
- Willingness to assist with personal care, including toileting, as necessary
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and small group academic and behavioral support within a center-based special education classroom
- Aid students with daily living activities and help maintain a safe and positive learning space
- Implement accommodations and individualized behavior plans per student IEPs
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and peers to provide consistent, high-quality care
- Support students in developing independence and confidence in daily tasks
