Job Description

Take your passion for education into the classroom this summer as a highly qualified paraprofessional supporting students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This short-term, contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of students at the elementary, middle, or high school level. Youll provide essential assistance in inclusive, hands-on learning environments, helping students thrive and reach their goals.

This assignment runs from June 15, 2026, to June 25, 2026, with work scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:55am to 12:25pm (hours may vary by site based on student needs). Your specific site and caseload will be determined based on student placements, and youll collaborate with dedicated educators to enhance learning experiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be classified as highly qualified by meeting one of these criteria:
    • Passing the Minnesota Paraprofessional Educator Exam (please provide documentation),
    • OR completion of at least 60 college credits (an official transcript is required; diplomas are not accepted).
  • Previous experience in a school or developmental setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and administrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in classroom activities and instructional support.
  • Support students with special needs, adapting materials as required.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all students.
  • Follow individualized education plans (IEPs) under the direction of certified staff.
  • Encourage engagement, independence, and social-emotional growth.
