Job Description

Take advantage of an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a contract Educational Assistant (Paraprofessional) in a center-based special education program. This full-time role offers the chance to support students in a dedicated environment, collaborating closely with educational professionals to foster student growth and well-being throughout the current school year (with potential for renewal). Two full-time positions are available, with immediate start dates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group assistance to students in a special education classroom.
  • Support academic instruction and assist with behavior management strategies.
  • Provide daily living support (including helping with ADLs and toileting when needed).
  • Implement IEP accommodations and behavior intervention plans as directed.
  • Team up with teachers, therapists, and related service staff to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Help sustain a structured, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Meets at least one of the following minimum requirements: Associates degree or higher, at least 60 college credits, or a passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment such as the ParaPro Assessment.
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or educational assistant in a school setting strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), or moderate to severe needs considered a plus.
  • Proficiency using behavior management tools (PBIS, ABA, CPI) highly desirable.
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care routines, including toileting.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills are essential.
