Step into an essential role supporting students' growth and independence while covering a maternity leave assignment as a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT). This full-time, district-wide contract position services Pre-K through 12th grade, ensuring continuity of care and therapeutic support for a diverse student population. The assignment is scheduled for approximately 12 weeks with a high likelihood of extension, although the initial contract will solely reflect the maternity leave coverage. Applicants must be prepared to fully commit to the temporary nature of this opportunity, understanding the possibility of an extension, but not relying on it.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license or Connecticut COTA license/certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT exam passed)
• School-based experience strongly preferred
• Reliable transportation required for district-wide travel
• Comfortable providing services to a wide age range: Pre-K through 12th grade
• COTAs must be able to work under OT supervision

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services to students with varied needs, collaborating with school teams to support each individual's educational goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Assess student abilities, document progress, and adjust interventions as needed
• Provide consultative services and resources to educators and support staff
• Foster engagement and maximize student participation in daily school activities
• For COTAs: work closely under the direction of a supervising OT
